Asha Said Jama (Somali: Casho Saciid Jamaac) is a Somali Canadian Activist and former Somali TV Reporter.

Asha Jama was born in Merca, Somalia and grew up in the capital city of Somalia Mogadishu. Where she attended the Somali National University Lafoole to attain her degree in Journalism. Soon after she graduated she began work at Xidigta Oktobar a Somali News Paper and later worked as a News Anchor at Somali TV.
However Asha left Somalia in the late eighties amidst civil unrest in the capitol. Asha then made her way to Canada, where she has been living for the past 22 years. Asha is now one of the biggest activist in the Somali Canadian Community.She is now the President of the Calgary Somali Women organization and leads numerous initivies to support Somalis Struggling in Canada and her Homeland of Somalia.[1]
